Electrical Technical Maintenance Engineer
Job Title: Technical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)
Department: Trostre Works Electrical (Tata Packaging Plus)
Location: Trostre (SA14)
Salary: £40,384 + Additional hours (AAH) with increase to £41,627 upon successfully job owner trained
Closing Date: Sunday 19th July 2026

We’re looking for a skilled Technical Maintenance Electrical Engineer to support engineering excellence across our Trostre site. This is a key technical leadership role where you’ll drive maintenance performance, support manufacturing operations, and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient running of plant equipment.
You’ll take ownership of engineering activities within your area, providing technical expertise, leading teams and contractors, and delivering continuous improvement to enhance plant performance and reliability.
What you will do
- Lead and control Engineering Craft personnel and contractors in support of manufacturing and site services
- Plan and deliver preventative maintenance and inspection activities to required standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults to minimise downtime and ensure continuity of production
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with Health, Safety, Environmental, and legislative requirements
- Develop and manage task force deployment schedules to meet maintenance objectives
- Allocate engineering resources and materials to support maintenance plans
- Organise and manage contract labour to meet agreed requirements
- Monitor performance of engineering teams and contractors to ensure quality and efficiency standards
- Control and manage maintenance expenditure within budget
- Review and improve engineering practices to enhance plant and equipment performance
- Provide expert technical support to manufacturing teams
- Manage availability of spares and materials to maintain equipment reliability
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes
- Support training and development of engineering and manufacturing teams
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments and Management of Change processes are followed
- Issue certificates of isolation in line with safe systems of work

What you will need
- An engineering background with relevant experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Qualified to HNC level, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent (or graduate engineer)
- Proven experience in maintenance, fault finding, and engineering problem-solving
- Experience supervising engineering teams and contractors
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and engineering compliance requirements
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage maintenance activities effectively
- Strong technical knowledge of plant and equipment systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive and solution-focused approach
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
