Electrical Technical (Design) Manager

Major Building Projects | London
£80,000 to £95,000 + Package

Are you an experienced Electrical Design or Technical Manager looking to work on some of the UK's most complex and technically challenging construction projects?

Our client is a leading international main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering major projects across healthcare, residential, education, life sciences, and data centres. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Electrical Technical Manager to lead the electrical design and engineering delivery across a portfolio of high-value projects throughout London and the South East.

Working within a specialist MEP team, you'll play a key role in driving design quality, technical excellence, and innovation from preconstruction through to project completion. This is an excellent opportunity to influence major projects valued between £5m and £130m while working alongside some of the industry's leading consultants and technical specialists.

The Role

Reporting into the MEP Technical Director, you will take ownership of the electrical design and technical engineering aspects of multiple projects, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the electrical design management process from preconstruction through delivery.
  • Acting as the electrical technical authority across allocated projects.
  • Managing relationships with clients, consultants, BIM coordinators, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Carrying out detailed design reviews and ensuring technical compliance.
  • Managing technical risks, value engineering opportunities, and design optimization.
  • Preparing and managing consultant appointments.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and support to engineers and project teams.
  • Reviewing major equipment selections and technical submissions.
  • Supporting site teams by validating installations against the design intent.
  • Providing technical troubleshooting throughout project delivery.
  • Promoting best practice in design, health and safety, and CDM compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
