Electrical Assembly Technician
Peterborough • Up to £45,000 per year • Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)

The Role
As an Electrical Assembly Technician (based at our Peterborough Service Centre), you will lead electrical operations at one of the UK’s largest water treatment facility sites. You’ll join a dedicated team responsible for the technical and operational upkeep of over 100 mobile water treatment units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, install, and document electrical systems, including:
- Single-phase, three-phase, low-voltage, and extra-low-voltage circuits
- PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and relay systems
- Commissioning of special-build equipment (electrical & mechanical)
- Prepare, terminate, and terminate electrical circuits
- Read, interpret, and apply technical drawings with precision
- Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and mechanical failures, issuing technical solutions
- Terminate incoming/outgoing quality control checks, repairs for plant/field equipment
- Undertake electrical inspections & testing (EIC, EICR, PAT testing)

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications (Essential):
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or approved equivalent)
- Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Industrial electrical installations experience, including fault-finding
Desirable Skills:
- City & Guilds 2391 (Electrical Testing & Inspection)
- Certification in Passport to Safety (or equivalent)
- Experience with PLC wiring, fault diagnosis, and configuration
Attributes:
- Strong safety ethos; adherence to quality standards
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset for problem-solving
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail—critical for technically accurate outputs
