Job Purpose

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at the oil terminal. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical components related to oil storage, pumping, and distribution systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly. CompEx EX01-04 is desired for this role however training courses will be provided for the successful applicant supported and funded. The successful candidate will be expected to support mechanical activities. Training will be provided to develop this wider skill set and enhance their abilities in wider fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components at the oil terminal.
  • Performs electrical isolations following bp standards.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential electrical problems.
  • Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring electrical problems.
  • Calibrate and adjust electrical equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on electrical and control systems and instruments.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Document equipment specifications, serial numbers, and calibration data.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall terminal functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding work progress and challenges.
  • Assist with mechanical maintenance and repair works.
  • Be part of maintenance team call-out rota.

Responsibilities

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in various physical situations and be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including exposure to heights and confined spaces.
  • Must hold full UK manual driver’s license
  • Must be available to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.

ESSENTIAL

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Level 3 Electrical qualification / completion of an apprenticeship program in Electrical industry.
  • Proven experience as an electrician.
  • 18th wiring Regulations.

DESIRED

  • CompEx EX01-04 Qualification - courses can be provided and funded to the successful candidate.
  • Mechanical experience – training to be provided to the successful applicant.
