Electrical Technician
About the Role
We have a full-time permanent position available for a hard-working, reliable, Skilled Electrician to work as part of a dedicated team on various projects. Ideally you will have had experience of working on site with good general knowledge of the industry, a can-do mindset, with a willingness to further progress your skills.
Reporting
Reporting to the Facilities Department, you will be required to install/repair/maintain various electrical equipment, across our sites in South Wales, for example lighting circuits, power circuits, emergency lighting, distribution boards single and 3 phase.
Working Hours
Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00.
Salary
Depending on experience - £35,000.00-£38,000.00

Specific Qualifications/ Job Training
Essential
- Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification (C&G 2360, 2330, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience within commercial and/or industrial electrical maintenance

Specific Skills
- Commercial and industrial electrical maintenance.
- Fault finding on lighting, power and emergency lighting systems.
- Installation and maintenance of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience working independently across multiple sites.
- Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations and electrical compliance requirements.
- Experience carrying out inspection, testing and certification works (desirable).
Previous Facilities, Building Maintenance Or Property Maintenance Experience Preferred.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across company depots, workshops, offices and commercial properties.
- Install, maintain and repair lighting systems, emergency lighting systems, power circuits, socket outlets and distribution equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently to minimise operational disruption.
- Undertake emergency lighting inspections, testing and remedial works in accordance with current regulations.
- Carry out electrical installation works including containment, cabling, accessories and distribution board modifications.
- Assist with Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), inspections and compliance testing.
- Ensure all electrical works are completed in accordance with BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations and current Health & Safety legislation.
- Identify defective or ageing electrical infrastructure and make recommendations for repair, replacement or improvement.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and maintain accurate service records.
- Record all works undertaken, materials used and time spent through company maintenance systems and job sheets.
- Liaise with site management and other departments to coordinate works and minimise disruption to operations.
- Support contractors and specialist engineers where required.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and test equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
