Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer (EICR)

Location
Southampton (with regional coverage), where you’ll balance cartography and compliance work.

About the Role
At PTSG, a award-winning safety specialist, we focus on Electrical Safety, encompassing:
- PTSG ES (fixed wire testing & EICRs)
- Guardian Electrical
- Electrical Compliance & Safety
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting in-depth fixed electrical tests & inspections (EICRs) across:
- Schools
- Hospitals
- Office blocks
- Retail units
- Identifying non-compliant wiring/switchgear and reporting findings with clear, actionable insights—no bureaucratic jargon required.
- Operating high-quality testing gear & software for efficiency and precision.
- Adapting daily to diverse challenges while maintaining a structured, investigative approach.
- Staying updated with regulatory standards (BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, latest City & Guilds/18th Edition guidance).

What We Expect
Experience
- Three+ years in fixed wire testing (2391), remedial electrical repairs, or compliance testing.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition (Amendment 2) Certificate
Essentials
- Full UK driving licence (your van is your mobile office).
- Attention to detail—what could go wrong tomorrow, today? Self-motivated problem solver.
