We'll give you £3,000 just to show up. The rest is up to you.
Location
Peterborough (regional coverage—you’ll become part cartographer, part compliance guru)
Salary & Benefits
- c. £60,000 OTE (£38,000 base + bonuses)

Hours
Normal working hours are by day, with unsocial hours requirements to accommodate customer needs.
About the Role
At PTSG, an industry-leading safety specialist operating across five key areas (Access & Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access, Fire Solutions, Water Treatment), we’re focusing on our Electrical Safety division.
Specialisation
- PTSG ES specialises in fixed wire tests and inspections (EICR’s) for commercial and industrial premises.
- Client types include schools, hospitals, office blocks, retail units, and more.
- Variety is the norm—no two days are the same.

What You’ll Actually Do
✅ Conducting full-scale inspections and tests on commercial & industrial fixed wiring and switchgear ✅ Compiling EICRs that stakeholders actually understand—no jargon, just clear reporting ✅ Using testing gear and reporting software efficiently ✅ Working independently, adapting daily to unique site challenges ✅ Staying compliant with:
- BS 7671
- IET Wiring Regulations
- City & Guilds credentials
Requirements
🔹 Minimum 3 years’ commercial experience in:
- Fixed wire testing & inspection
- Remedial repairs
- Compliance-heavy roles
🔹 Essential qualifications:
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition certificate
🔹 Full UK driving licence (essential for van operations)
🔹 Personal traits:
- Detail-focused
- Self-starter
- Professional mindset ("What could trip things up tomorrow?")
