Shadow Offer: We’ll give you £3,000 just to show up. The rest is up to you.
Location
Durham (regional coverage – you’ll be part cartographer, part compliance guru)
Salary & Benefits
- £60,000 OTE (£38,000 base + bonuses)

Hours
Normal working hours are daytime, with unsocial hours to accommodate customer demands.
About the Role & Company
Here at PTSG, we’re an award-winning safety specialist operating across five key areas, with a focus on our Electrical Safety division. This includes:
- PTSG ES (specialising in fixed wire testing & inspections – EICR’s)
- Guardian Electrical
- Electrical Compliance & Safety
We work with schools, hospitals, offices, retail units, and beyond – meaning no two days are the same.

We’re busier than ever, tendering for more work, and urgently need to increase our pool of Test & Inspection Engineers (2391). This is your chance for financial security, personal development, and career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
Cutting through the jargon, your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting full-scale inspections of commercial & industrial fixed wiring and switchgear, compiling detail-rich EICRs
- Spotting problems, documenting issues, and explaining them clearly (no bureaucratic jargon)
- Mastering testing gear & reporting software with precision and efficiency
- Working independently, adapting daily, and staying calm under pressure (each site presents its own challenges)
- Maintaining compliance with BS 7671, IET wiring regulations and City & Guilds credentials

Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of similar experience (fixed wire testing, remedial repairs, or compliance work)
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) + NVQ Level 3 + 18th Edition Certificate
- Full UK driving licence (since the company van will be your mobile HQ)
