Electrical Testing Engineer

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Testing Engineer (Electrician) to join our growing field-based team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical services across a variety of sites nationwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who takes pride in their work, values compliance and safety, and is keen to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Duties

  • Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Carry out inspection and testing in line with industry standards (including NICEIC where applicable)
  • Support fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Ensure all work is completed to a right first time standard
  • Identify hazards, defects, and necessary remedial actions in compliance with regulations
  • Assist with small works, installations, and ongoing maintenance tasks
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to project timelines

Health & Safety

  • Follow all company policies, particularly in relation to health & safety
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Contribute to risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) where required

Administration & Operations

  • Manage your own workload effectively while on site
  • Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate progress updates to operational and administrative teams
  • Ensure company equipment is used, stored, and maintained correctly
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels in your vehicle

Customer Service

  • Provide a professional and responsive service to clients
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
  • Handle on-site queries in a professional manner
  • Maintain strong timekeeping and reliability
  • Build positive relationships to support repeat business

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Electrician with experience in testing and inspection
  • Strong understanding of electrical regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to travel)
