APPLY Job Description

Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh

Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to work on some of the UK's most exciting and technically challenging building services projects?

I'm working with a highly regarded multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is continuing to grow its Building Services team. They are looking to appoint an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer to join their established team in either Bournemouth or Reading.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, healthcare, residential, life sciences, data centres, education, and complex engineering sectors, collaborating with some of the industry's leading engineers and consultants.

The Role

You'll play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable electrical building services designs from concept through to completion. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects while developing your technical and professional expertise.

Depending on your level of experience, you'll either support the delivery of major projects or lead electrical packages and manage client relationships on larger, more complex schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical building services designs from concept through to completion.
  • Produce calculations, technical specifications, reports, and design drawings.
  • Design LV electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, earthing, and protection systems.
  • Coordinate designs alongside mechanical, public health, and specialist engineering teams.
  • Attend client, design, and project meetings.
  • Review contractor designs, technical submissions, and installation works.
  • Support commissioning activities and witness testing where required.
  • Manage project programmes and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
