Are you a skilled Electrician looking to make a difference in your community? Join LiveWest, the largest housing association in the South West, and help us provide high-quality homes and services to our customers.

As an Electrician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our properties, ensuring they meet our high standards and customer expectations.

This is a mobile role, working predominantly in the Bristol location. You will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of this patch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring and monitoring.
  • Quality Workmanship: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, complying with building regulations and safety requirements.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to our customers, ensuring the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Maintenance and Testing: Perform periodic testing and installation work, ensuring compliance with current best practices and guidelines.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for you and our customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to achieve departmental goals, and deliver exceptional service.
  • On-Call Participation: Take part in an out-of-hours on-call rota and attend meetings and training as required.

This role is being offered on a full time permanent basis - working 40 hours per week.

Skills

To be successful in your application for the role of Electrician, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level one role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:

  • Post Qualification Experience: Proven experience in the electrical industry, with a strong understanding of responsive maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing electrical faults, performing periodic testing, and carrying out installation work.
  • Customer Focus: Experience working in customers' homes, demonstrating a professional and positive approach.
  • Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology.
  • Driving Licence: A full, manual, valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications Required

  • Core Apprenticeship, 2360 parts 1 & 2 or equivalent (NVQ3, City and Guilds)
  • Desirable: 18th Edition BS7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing probation period.
  • Desirable: Test and Inspect (2391 or equivalent) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing probation period.
  • Desirable: AM2 (Achievement Measurement Test) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing probation period.
  • Desirable: PV (Photovoltaic)
  • Desirable: EV (Electric Vehicles Charging Points)
  • Desirable: EESS (Electrical Energy Storage Systems)

Please note: This role is not eligible for a Cos. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without a CoS.
