Mears are excited to announce an existing contract expansion, with our long-time client Cross Keys Homes.

We have worked with Cross Keys Homes for 18 years and have just signed off for a further 10 years.

Previously the Kitchen installations have been sub-contracted out and now we are bringing it all in house! If you want to work for a company that values longevity, along with an experienced workforce, this might be for you!

As part of our Kitchen Installation team, you'll play a key role in transforming peoples' homes, delivering high-quality kitchen refurbishments that make a real difference to residents. You'll work alongside a supportive and experienced team that takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship, maintaining high standards, and providing outstanding customer service.

From the removal of existing kitchens through to the installation of new, modern spaces, you'll see the impact of your work firsthand. About The Role

As an Electrician working on the Cross Keys Homes contract, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, inspection, and repair works. The role requires ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant with current regulations, and maintained to a high standard to support residents' safety and comfort. Duties include fault finding, consumer unit replacements, rewires, electrical upgrades, and completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs). A strong focus is placed on delivering excellent customer service, working professionally within residents' homes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Cross Keys Homes' quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Electrical Duties

  • Inspect and test installations to ensure safety and compliance with current regulations
  • Carry out repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuse boards, and other electrical systems
  • Diagnose faults and repair or replace components including switches, outlets, light fittings, and circuit breakers
  • Work independently or collaboratively to meet daily targets
  • Communicate clearly with tenants, explaining work carried out and expected outcomes
  • Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and tidy
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Deliver high standards of customer care
  • Respond to emergency call-outs, including out-of-hours work where required
  • Carry out installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance across a range of domestic properties
  • Use relevant IT systems to manage, prioritise, and complete workload efficiently

Key Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2)
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition (17th Edition candidates will be supported to upgrade)
  • Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent – 2394/2395)
  • Previous experience within domestic or social housing environments
