Electrician
Electrician Vacancy
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team and support our broader repairs and maintenance by efficiently and effectively delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair work across all existing and new projects. This role is busy, varied, and involves working closely with experienced professionals from various trades.
You will be responsible for performing electrical, general repair, maintenance, and refurbishment work in tenanted, commercial, and void properties. Achieving a first-time fix for all jobs undertaken is a key objective, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including:
- Fuses
- Lighting
- Wiring
- Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and any associated components
- Perform all work in compliance with electrical codes, blueprints, and industry standards
- Test electrical systems to ensure proper functioning
- Complete documentation of repairs and service information
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of necessary supplies and parts
- Calibrate equipment to specified standards
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and components
- Troubleshoot issues and make timely, high-quality repairs
- Collaborate effectively with wider repairs and maintenance teams, trade personnel, clients, suppliers, and other trades

Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations compliance
- Desirable: Telecom qualification Code of Practice (heading 1 or 2) (2391) experience
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality electrical work that meets client expectations and project timelines
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Sound working knowledge of electrical theory, principles, materials, and equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of hand and power tools associated with electrical work
- Strong foundational mathematical skills for accurate calculations
- Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedural compliance
- Capability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and team members
Working Arrangements
- Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- Location: Barking and Dagenham area; travel throughout the borough is essential
- Salary: £42,000 per annum
- Full clean and valid UK driving licence is mandatory for travel requirements
- DBS check required due to access to occupied premises and sites
