Electrician (EICR) – Field Based Role

Location: Birmingham Salary: £41,217 per annum Hours: 39 per week


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrician to join our dedicated DLO Electrical Team on a field-based basis. This role is vital for ensuring the safety, compliance and quality of our housing portfolio through electrical inspections, servicing and remedial works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in accordance with current regulations and best practices.
  • Perform inspections and accurately log findings using required documentation.
  • Carry out servicing for ventilation programmes.
  • Undertake planned, void and responsive electrical maintenance tasks to maintain properties to the highest standard.
  • Retrofit domestic alarm systems (including LD1, LD2 and LD3) with smoke, CO, and heat detectors.
  • Adhere strictly to all relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  • Deliver work alone to a high standard in both occupied and unoccupied properties.
  • Complete reports, order materials, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Provide excellent customer service, working professionally and courteously at all times.
  • Contribute to the out-of-hours emergency rota and attend callouts as required.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned across GreenSquareAccord sites.

About You

Qualifications Required

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation/Electrotechnical
  • AM2 Assessment
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
  • GCSE-level literacy and numeracy (or equivalent ability)

Experience & Competencies

  • Proven ability to complete EICRs and deliver high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Experience with domestic electrical systems, including refurbishments and maintenance.
  • Direct experience retrofitting LD1-LD3 alarm systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings/specifications and requisition materials.
  • Competence in the safe use of mechanical and non-mechanical tools/equipment.

⚠ Note: If successful, a DBS check will be required.
