Job Title: Multi Skilled Technician (Electrical)

Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Technician (Electrical) to work as part of our team at Nottingham University in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service specialising in electrical and mechanical repairs.
This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
The salary for this role is up to £38,110 per annum dependant on experience and qualifications.
Please note that a current manual UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager.
- Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all plant and installation work.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with the scheduled works & liaise with specialist sub-contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
- Carry out statutory testing including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting tests, ad hoc PAT testing as required and others, as required.
- Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons.
- Take the lead in electrical stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair.
- Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing.

Essential Qualifications
You will need to be a fully qualified electrician with one of the following essential qualifications:
- City & Guilds 236 / 2360 / 2330 / 2356 / 2357 to Year 2 or level 3 (dependant on qualification)
- Equivalent EAL electrical qualification to Year 2 / Level 3
Ideally you will have additional qualifications including:
- City & Guilds 2382
- The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing
Although not essential, previous experience in a similar role and environment is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Great communication, IT, and organisation skills
- Passion to do a great job
- Good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems
- Good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner
- Willingness to work additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends
