Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical) – Contractor Control & PPMRole

About The Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical) will play a critical role in maintaining high standards across Portfolio, Proactive & Reactive Maintenance (PPM), equipment servicing, safety compliance, and contractor control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake PPM, proactive, and reactive works through the helpdesk, adhering to set time frames to meet customer expectations.
  • Respond to client callouts as per the callout rota.
  • Act as the client’s contractor liaison, including:
    • Monitoring contractors and their workmanship to ensure compliance with agreed standards.
    • Evaluating performance of contract teams.
  • Ensure equipment and work areas meet company standards.
  • Overseer servicing and maintenance of all electrical equipment under contract to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Comply with Health & Safety legislation and OCS UK’s H&S policy at all times.

Hiring Criteria

  • Previous experience in Facilities Management – highly desirable.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to carry out basic IT tasks on handheld devices (e.g., ticketing systems, mobile reporting tools).

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Craft qualification in electrical engineering, equivalent to:
    • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (2350 NVQ + AM2) (Riverares all variants).
    • Target Audience: (LB Mix 5 variant) *equally accepted if in scope of job role.
  • Current wiring regulations qualification equivalent to:
    • City & Guilds 2381-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  • Valid and up-to-date Grade Card/CSCS Card or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Approved Inspection & Testing qualification (Level 3), equivalent to:
    • City & Guilds 2391-52 Award in Initial & Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.
