As members of NICEIC, the company delivers work to high safety and quality standards on every project across the UK. The team is highly trained and experienced, focusing on retail and commercial fit outs for high-end clients. Project Electrical Solutions Ltd aims to be the preferred electrical contractor for all aspects of electrical fit out, offering a flexible workforce able to meet strict program and deadline dates. The company also specializes in electrical testing, maintenance, installations, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data wiring, and music systems.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in Sunderland and London. The Electrician will carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on retail and commercial projects, including containment systems, lighting, power, and data wiring.

Day-to-Day Tasks
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings
- Performing testing and inspections
- Troubleshooting faults
- Ensuring work complies with relevant regulations and company standards
The role involves working closely with project managers, designers, and other trades to deliver projects on time and to specification, sometimes working flexible hours to meet deadlines. The Electrician will also complete accurate documentation, maintain tools and equipment, and adhere to all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in electrical work and electrical installations, with a solid understanding of electricity and safe working practices.
- Experience in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including routine servicing and corrective work.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults and using appropriate testing equipment to diagnose issues.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles relevant to commercial and retail environments.
- Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and up-to-date industry certifications.
- Familiarity with UK wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671) and NICEIC or similar standards is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications, with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to different sites as required.
