We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers—one team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels while living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently—we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.
About Your Team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it—and mend it.
We’ve been powering the UK’s homes and businesses for over 200 years—but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re driving green change, improving the UK’s energy efficiency, and working towards Net Zero. Using clever tech such as smart thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers, we’re making energy cleaner, cheaper, and more accessible for customers.
About Your Role:
We’re looking for skilled Electricians to join our experienced Field Engineering team. You’ll help ensure that customers receive safe, high-quality electrical work, precisely when they need it. Our focus is on our customers—and you’ll play a key role in delivering same-day fixes and maintaining the highest standards of electrical safety within customers’ homes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
