Electrician

Based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire – Covering the surrounding areas

£43,251 - £45,528 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm

We have an opportunity for an Electrician, based from Welwyn Garden City, to be a part of the day-to-day Responsive Repairs Team (consisting of a team of 6). The main responsibilities of this role include providing efficient and cost effective electrical maintenance tasks, providing quality customer care in a demanding role and providing our customers with a first time fix wherever possible. This role will also include using our work app on a smartphone to accept jobs and carry out works - it could be changing an extractor fan, or to carry out a mutual exchange electrical check. This role is predominantly lone working, carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance in a variety of tenanted properties. This role does cover a large area, however a company van and power tools will be provided for business use.

The role of Electrician will include:

  • Carrying out installation, fault fixing and maintenance duties
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensuring accurate daily work records are completed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
  • Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
