Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: South Lanarkshire
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their growing production team in Airdrie. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the assembly, wiring, testing, and repair of complex electro-mechanical systems in a low-volume, high-complexity engineering environment.
If you have a passion for precision engineering, enjoy solving technical challenges, and take pride in producing high-quality work, we'd love to hear from you. As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Building and assembling complex electro-mechanical products from technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Reading and interpreting wiring schematics to wire consoles, power units, and test panel boxes.
- Wiring and soldering assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards.
- Soldering electrical and electronic components to IPC J-STD-001 standards.
- Producing circuit layouts from electrical schematics.
- Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and modifying electro-mechanical assemblies and test equipment.
- Supporting product testing, continuity checks, and circuit debugging.
- Participating in root cause investigations to identify and resolve product or component failures.
- Working closely with engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality products.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining the highest manufacturing standards.

Skills & Experience
- Experience assembling complex electro-mechanical or electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with cable assemblies and complex electrical component build and test.
- Proven soldering skills to IPC standards (IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 preferred).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative engineering team.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Qualifications
Ideally, you'll have:
- ONC/HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (not essential), or
- A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.

Desirable:
- Basic understanding of engineering drawing packages and schematic diagrams.
- National 5 (or equivalent) Maths and Physics.
