About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electro/Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and manage complex engineering projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, system design and software integration. This role involves collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions within the commercial and leisure marine markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electro/mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to define scope, milestones and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress throughout the lifecycle.
  • Lead installation activities on customer sites across the UK and overseas when required.
  • Produce technical specifications, test procedures and validation reports.
  • Support system design, testing and software integration.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

What We're Looking For

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and a high level of numeracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to motivate others and lead projects.
  • Flexibility and the ability to compromise.
  • A willingness to accept responsibility and make decisions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer care skills and commercial awareness.
  • High level of computer literacy; experience with design software such as AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Solar system design and installation experience is advantageous but not essential.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering with a strong understanding of system design principles.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Additional certifications in automation or embedded systems are an advantage.
  • Skilled in schematic creation and interpretation.
  • Confident working independently or leading a team on customer sites.
  • Full UK driving licence, as the role requires travel throughout the UK and overseas when necessary.
