R&D Electronics Engineer

Location: Skelmersdale – accessible from Ormskirk, Wigan, Southport, Liverpool, St Helens, Chorley, Preston, and surrounding areas

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year (depending on experience) + 5% company performance bonus

We are working with an established engineering business to recruit an Electronics Design Engineer to join their Research & Development team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in designing and developing new products, improving existing designs, and driving continuous innovation across a respected technology manufacturer.

The Role

As a R&D Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing new electronic products from concept through to production
  • Supporting continuous improvement and innovation within existing products
  • Managing projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Ensuring designs comply with EMC and safety requirements
  • Working with other departments to support smooth product launches and ongoing technical support
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies and industry standards
  • Supporting patent applications and compliance with quality systems (ISO9001)

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an electronics design role
  • Strong analogue design skills and experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit simulation and hardware design principles
  • Understanding of EMC compliance and electrical measurement applications
  • A full UK driving licence

  • Further qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience with MRPI or MRPII systems
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 quality auditing or similar standards
