Electronics Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering business developing highly sophisticated sensing and measurement technologies for specialist applications.
Working as part of a small, highly skilled Engineering and Production team, this role offers the chance to take ownership of projects from initial concept through to production, focusing on cutting-edge electronic and opto-electronic systems in a low-volume, high-technology manufacturing environment.
The Electronics Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a key role in the design, verification, and continuous improvement of our new and existing products, while also supporting production, manufacturing partners, and product lifecycle activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer who enjoys working across the full product development lifecycle and wishes to make a genuine impact in a collaborative and technically challenging environment.
The Role
As a Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading electronic design activities for new product developments
- Supporting and improving existing electronic designs and PCB assemblies
- Collaborating with external PCBA consultants and contract manufacturers
- Performing functional testing, verification, and quality assurance activities
- Supporting manufacturing and production teams with technical expertise
- Maintaining and improving electrical and functional test specifications across the product portfolio
- Supporting design for manufacture (DFM) and design for test (DFT) activities
- Managing obsolescence issues and engineering concessions
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
