Electronics Design Engineer - Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME)
Your Role This Electronics Design Engineer role is focused on the design and delivery of complex electronic circuit assemblies and architectures, progressing solutions from concept through to system integration and qualification. The role requires close collaboration across systems, mechanical, software, safety and wider project teams to ensure products meet requirements, comply with regulatory safety and environmental standards, and are supported by robust specifications, architectures, development plans, verification plans and design review evidence. The position also contributes to Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) project knowledge capture, design improvement implementation, peer review, progress monitoring and lifecycle-based electronic product development within a formal regulated engineering environment.
Your Profile Undertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualification Lead discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solution Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standards Contribute to the knowledge capture of Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) projects, overseeing the implementation of design improvements and reviewing the work of peers. Generate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification plan Present robust engineering solutions at design reviews Monitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performance

Desired Skills Experience of electronic design throughout the design lifecycle Previous use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar) Development of electronic products in a formal regulated environment Experience testing at circuit board and system level (e.g. board bring-up and debug, EMC testing) Preparation of sub-system requirements/procurement specs General understanding of engineering process and design lifecycles
