We're Hiring: Experienced Electronics Engineer in Southampton
We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team in Southampton. Working in a team of 4 you'll play a key role in delivering preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of assets. Whether looking after the radar equipment, our VHF Radio systems, vast CCTV network or ensuring the X-Ray equipment in our cruise terminals, the role will provide you with a unique asset base to maintain.
Based from our Port Of Southampton, you will need to hold a full UK Driving Licence to travel across the full port estate. You'll need to be comfortable working at height and over/on water. The role works regular days, but with a 1 in 4 on call roster to provide 365 24/7 coverage to the port.

Accountabilities
Planned/reactive maintenance activities:
- Plant & equipment (Airbridges, Cranes etc)
- Radar
- CCTV
- Access Control
- X-Ray & Archway
- VHF radios
- Weather stations
- Buoy monitoring systems (Fog signals etc)
- Other electronic equipment
To carry out Electronic Testing, Inspection, and fault finding including remedial works, down to component level.
To work in a safe manner, assist with the collation and updating of risk assessments and work in accordance with ABP’s safe systems of work.
Complete relevant paperwork and provide Mainsaver administrators sufficient information to keep the system up to date.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- HNC electronics or equivalent
- Ability to work at heights of 30 metres or more
- Full driving licence
- Flexible approach to working hours, to include on-call duties
Ideal
- Knowledge of Radars systems, VHF Radios, CCTV and X-Rays
- Software integration and coding for bespoke assets such as Tide & Weather Stations
- Electronics or communications knowledge
- PLC knowledge
- Understanding of Network Systems
