Electronics Hardware Engineering Team Leader
You will be responsible for leading and developing Multimatic’s Electronics Hardware Engineering team and delivering the electronics for our active & adaptive suspension, active aero, and powered closures solutions. You will be part of a highly capable team split between Cambridge (UK) and Toronto (Canada) and will be overseeing all stages of electronics product development from concept through to end of life.
This is a technical role; you will be a key driver in our high-level technology decisions and product roadmaps but will be expected to contribute and oversee architectures, requirements, and detailed designs as well.
We need someone who is experienced in electronic hardware design, with a good grounding in embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have previously designed products for manufacture, ideally in an automotive environment, working to deadlines and communicating well. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
