Build and Support Advanced Imaging Technology Used Around the World

Active Silicon is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-focused Electronics Technician to join our production team supporting the assembly, test, repair and continuous improvement of specialist electronic imaging products supplied to customers globally.

Working from our Operations Facility in Langley, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electronic products used across manufacturing, life sciences, medical imaging, security and robotics applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing technology business and develop your technical skills across electronics assembly, testing, fault finding and repair.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Testing and fault-finding electronic products and assemblies.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults down to component level.
  • SMT soldering, re-work and repair activities.
  • Mechanical assembly of product sub-assemblies.
  • Optical inspection of products and components.
  • Supporting production continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with engineering and production teams to maintain product quality and performance.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Qualification in Electronics (Apprenticeship desirable).
  • Previous experience as an Electronics Technician.
  • Experience assembling, testing and repairing electronic products.
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and fault-find to component level.
  • SMT soldering and re-work experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and collaborative working approach.

Please note - Security Clearance: This role is subject to successful completion of BPSS clearance prior to commencement.

Desirable

  • Experience with machine vision, computer vision or camera systems.
  • Prototype builds and cable assembly experience.
  • Knowledge of PCB layouts and ECAD tools such as Altium.
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or Solid Edge.
  • Experience within medical, aerospace, defence, automotive or other regulated industries.
