Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 160 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring, and electronic test equipment for safety-critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial, and transportation industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Test, inspect, and record manufactured or repaired products to internal and external test specifications to a high degree of accuracy with the aid of ATE or long-hand test equipment.

This role is for 39 hours over 4 days - Monday to Thursday.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Test and inspect products in a timely manner in line with expected costed time restraints.
  • Complete test and inspection tasks within a Quality Accredited environment, in accordance with both General Manufacturing and Aerospace controls.
  • Identifying and raising problems to the team (immediate/wider).
  • Working closely with the immediate/wider team to support On Time To Promise (OTTP) delivery within a Zero Defects culture.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

What We Look For:

  • A proven track record of safety and working as a willing, competent member of a team.
  • A willingness to undertake annual eye examination and colour blindness checks.
  • Flexible in approach with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Undertake learning programmes such as IPC 610/620 ISO quality controls as necessary.
  • Close attention to detail, in terms of adhering accurately to internal specifications/test programmes and or customer specifications/drawings test specs.
  • The ability to work in an orderly manner and organized in a 6S environment.
  • A zero defects right first-time attitude.
  • The ability to work to required Key Point Indicators (KPI) with respect to quality of work, performance, and output.
  • A proactive outlook on an improvement culture with a view of continuous improvement.
  • Travel may be required to support business needs.
