Electronics Test Engineer

Role Overview and Responsibilities
We are seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to support production operations, drive process improvements, and contribute to new product and equipment introductions. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this pivotal role will allow you to shape our product quality and streamline workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Test Automation
- Operate and maintain automated test equipment, ensuring high-volume production meets quality standards.
- Diagnostics & Test Hardware Development
- Set up, configure, and maintain electrical measurement systems.
- Interpret and evaluate customer test specifications, translating them into actionable outputs.
- Design and build test hardware, modifying or generating test code as needed.
- Process Optimisation
- Research, design, and develop equipment and workflows to enhance productivity.
- Technical Documentation
- Create and update technical records (e.g., circuit diagrams, test procedures, operation manuals).
- Work with Quality teams to develop golden samples for machine validation.
- Equipment Negotiation & Training
- Procure new test equipment to support future growth.
- Train and support operators in effective use of testing systems.
- Regulatory & Calibration Compliance
- Oversee equipment calibration and coordinate its movement between production areas.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Essential Requirements
- HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Hands-on production experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong diagnostic skills—troubleshooting circuitry down to the component level.
- Proficiency in:
- Test instrumentation: Oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital multimeters, and signal analysers.
- Software familiarity: Hands-on coding experience in LabVIEW, CVI, Python, VB, or C++ (a keen coding interest).
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team while managing solo project work effectively.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Exposure to remote instrumentation control.
- Practical electronics hardware design knowledge.
