Job Title: Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) Advisory Panel – Consultant Needed

MISTAFF and the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) are seeking a consultant to serve on the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) Advisory Panel. This role involves providing expert guidance in evaluating proposed professional development opportunities for Michigan educators, reviewing applications, and ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices.

About the Role

Position Overview: As a COA Advisory Panel Consultant, you will assess applications for professional development programs and resources submitted to the MASSP-accredited board. This ensures that proposed offerings meet essential criteria for effectiveness and relevance in supporting Michigan educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate applications for COA, ensuring compliance with criteria related to cost, instructional alignment, quality, relevance, and accessibility for pre-K–12 educators.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to applicants on how to strengthen their submissions.
  • Attend virtual meetings (Monthly) via Zoom/phone (unspecified time) on the second Thursday of each month.
  • Commit to volunteering ~6 hours per month, including:
    • Reviewing 2–4 submissions per month (~1-hour each).
    • Participating in the monthly advisory meeting (~1 hour).
  • Serve a minimum of one year, though interest beyond that will earn future consideration for renewal in future cycles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
