The Role

Employers' Liability / Public Liability Litigation Executive - Manchester - Hybrid - up to £35,000

A well-established national law firm is seeking an EL/PL Litigation Executive to join its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a delegated-authority, fixed-fee caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, working with a strong portfolio of insurer clients.

As an EL/PL Litigation Executive in the Manchester team, you’ll manage a varied and interesting caseload, benefit from hands-on support from experienced colleagues, and gain exposure to higher-value and technically challenging work as you progress.

The Role

  • Managing a delegated-authority EL/PL caseload from instruction to settlement
  • Handling a mix of litigated and pre-litigated matters, including PAD applications and Infant Approval Hearings
  • Drafting pleadings, legal documentation, Tomlin Orders, and Consent Orders
  • Reviewing liability, quantum, and evidence to drive case strategy
  • Instructing Counsel and experts, preparing for hearings, and attending conferences
  • Negotiating settlements with opponents and external stakeholders
  • Handling disclosure, CRU, medical records review, and evidence collation
  • Supporting senior fee earners on complex and higher-value matters

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
