The Role
Employers' Liability / Public Liability Litigation Executive - Manchester - Hybrid - up to £35,000
A well-established national law firm is seeking an EL/PL Litigation Executive to join its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a delegated-authority, fixed-fee caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, working with a strong portfolio of insurer clients.
As an EL/PL Litigation Executive in the Manchester team, you’ll manage a varied and interesting caseload, benefit from hands-on support from experienced colleagues, and gain exposure to higher-value and technically challenging work as you progress.
The Role
- Managing a delegated-authority EL/PL caseload from instruction to settlement
- Handling a mix of litigated and pre-litigated matters, including PAD applications and Infant Approval Hearings
- Drafting pleadings, legal documentation, Tomlin Orders, and Consent Orders
- Reviewing liability, quantum, and evidence to drive case strategy
- Instructing Counsel and experts, preparing for hearings, and attending conferences
- Negotiating settlements with opponents and external stakeholders
- Handling disclosure, CRU, medical records review, and evidence collation
- Supporting senior fee earners on complex and higher-value matters

The Candidate
- Experience managing a litigated EL/PL caseload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident liaising with solicitors, witnesses, and external stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong drafting skills, including settlement documentation
- Experience with disclosure, CRU, medical evidence, and case analysis
- Comfortable instructing Counsel and preparing for hearings
- Good IT skills and familiarity with case management systems
- Proactive, analytical, and collaborative in approach
- Committed to delivering excellent client care and compliance
