The Role
Employers' Liability / Public Liability Solicitor – Manchester - Hybrid – up to £50,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a EL/PL Solicitor to join its growing Casualty team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to handle a mixed caseload of multi-track Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, predominantly valued between £25,000 and £100,000, on behalf of a range of high-profile insurer clients.
As a EL/PL Solicitor in the Manchester office, you will manage both litigated and pre-litigated claims from instruction through to resolution. You will work closely with clients and insurers, providing strategic advice on liability and quantum issues while delivering excellent client service and achieving strong commercial outcomes.
The Role
- Managing a mixed caseload of multi-track EL/PL claims valued between £25,000 and £100,000
- Handling both litigated and pre-litigated matters from inception through to conclusion
- Assessing liability, quantum and evidence to formulate effective case strategies
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation
- Attending court hearings and managing litigation procedures as required
- Liaising regularly with insurer and corporate clients to provide updates and advice
- Working towards chargeable hours, WIP and client service targets
- Delivering commercially focused outcomes while managing risk effectively

The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent experience
- Proven experience handling multi-track EL/PL claims
- Strong understanding of liability investigations, quantum assessment and litigation strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing client and insurer relationships effectively
- Confident drafting pleadings, witness statements and legal correspondence
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience using Case Management Systems and legal technology
