This role involves working on email, SMS, and paid ad campaigns for some of the most exciting DTC brands, combining creativity, data, and strategy in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Job Summary
We’re hiring an experienced Email Marketing Strategist with a strong background in lifecycle marketing, retention strategy, and conversion-focused copywriting. In this role, you will:

- Own the strategic direction of multiple client accounts
- Create high-performing email and SMS campaigns to increase customer engagement, retention, and revenue
- Work closely with clients and internal teams on campaign calendars, automations, and performance optimization

Key Responsibilities
- Own the retention and lifecycle marketing strategy for a portfolio of eCommerce client accounts
- Develop and manage monthly email and SMS campaign calendars, aligning with:
- Promotional initiatives
- Seasonal campaigns
- Educational content
- Evergreen flows
- Create strategic messaging plans across both email and SMS channels
- Write high-converting email and SMS campaigns tailored to:
- Each client’s brand voice
- Performance objectives
- Craft engaging subject lines, preview text, hooks, offers, CTAs, and messaging angles optimized for conversions
- Balance brand storytelling with direct-response marketing principles
- Review campaign and automation performance weekly and monthly
- Translate marketing data into actionable recommendations to improve retention and revenue
- Prepare client reporting, performance summaries, and strategic recommendations
- Present campaign insights and next-step recommendations confidently in client meetings
- Identify opportunities to expand client accounts through:
- Additional lifecycle strategies
- SMS marketing
- Segmentation initiatives
- Retention tactics
- Collaborate with designers, email builders, account managers, and operations teams to ensure accurate and on-schedule launches

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Email marketing
- Lifecycle marketing
- Retention marketing
- CRM marketing
- Proven experience managing email and SMS marketing for:
- eCommerce or DTC brands
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write:
- Persuasive, conversion-focused marketing content
- Deep understanding of:
- Customer lifecycle marketing
- Retention strategy
- Experience in:
- Building promotional calendars
- Developing campaign strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to:
- Interpret marketing data
- Make strategic recommendations
- Comfortable presenting campaign performance and strategy directly to clients
- Experience collaborating with:
- Designers
- Developers
- Cross-functional marketing teams
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with specialized SMS platforms like Attentive or Postscript
- Familiarity with paid media channels (Meta, Google, TikTok) and their integration with retention strategies
- Experience managing retention for $7M–$9M+ eCommerce brands
- Prior work in subscription-based or consumable product categories
