Email Marketing Strategist – Huzzle Placement

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Email Marketing Strategist to drive retention, engagement, and revenue growth for our portfolio of high-growth eCommerce and DTC clients. In this high-impact, remote role, you’ll shape data-driven email and SMS strategies, craft high-converting campaigns, and collaborate seamlessly with clients and cross-functional teams.

Our client is a full-stack growth marketing agency and eCommerce partner, specialising in lifecycle marketing, paid media, and conversion rate optimisation for Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) brands. With over 30 years of combined experience and >$500M in managed revenue, they’ve scaled 150+ brands using AI-powered infrastructures, retention-focused strategies, and transparency-driven collaboration.

Located at the intersection of creativity and performance, they foster a fast-paced, results-driven culture—where ideas move quickly, communication is sharp, and every campaign delivers 2-3x revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end retention and lifecycle marketing strategy for a portfolio of eCommerce/DTC clients, ensuring long-term customer value.
  • Develop and execute monthly email + SMS campaign calendars covering:
    • Promotional campaigns
    • Seasonal/educational content
    • Evergreen workflows
  • Create strategic messaging plans for both channels, blending brand storytelling with direct-response conversion tactics.
  • Write high-performing email/SMS copy, including:
    • High-converting subject lines, preview text, hooks, offers, CTAs
    • Tailored messaging aligned with brand voice and performance KPIs
  • Analyse weekly/monthly campaign performance (automations, conversions, retention metrics) and refine strategies continuously.
  • Translate marketing data into measurable recommendations to improve retention, engagement, and revenue.
  • Research & implement new segmentation tactics, retention triggers, and expansion opportunities (e.g., upsell/cross-sell, re-engagement flows).
  • Present campaign insights and strategic recommendations in client meetings with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, builders, and account teams to ensure seamless execution and on-time launches.

Key Requirements

Experience & Skills

✔ 3+ years in email, retention, and lifecycle marketing (prioritising DTC/eCommerce). ✔ Expertise in conversion copywriting for email/SMS, with a track record of improving metrics like open rates, click-throughs, and revenue. ✔ Proficiency in customer lifecycle frameworks (e.g., behavioural triggering, win-back strategies). ✔ Ability to build campaign calendars while balancing seasonality, personalisation, and scalability. ✔ Strong analytical mindset—comfortable with Google Analytics, CRM tools, and attribution modellers. ✔ Experience leading client-facing discussions on strategy, performance, and recommendations.

Nice-to-Haves

👉 Experience with SMS platforms like Attentive/Postscript. 👉 Knowledge of paid-media integration (Meta/Google/TikTok ads) and how it boosts retention. 👉 Prior work with $7M–$9M+ eCommerce brands. 👉 Background in subscriptions or consumable-product industries.
