Marketing Email Specialist
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £250–£300 per day via Umbrella
Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite in either Manchester or Coventry
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Email Specialist to support the delivery of customer communications and marketing automation programmes across multiple CRM platforms. This role will focus on the execution, optimisation, testing and maintenance of email campaigns and automated customer journeys, ensuring communications are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing, technology, product and compliance stakeholders to deliver high-quality customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, update and deploy email campaigns across CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Manage and optimise automated customer journeys and lifecycle communications.
- Review and amend existing automated workflows and triggered communications.
- Conduct end-to-end testing, including audience segmentation, test data management and validation.
- Perform pre-launch checks and live environment testing to ensure successful campaign delivery.
- Execute robust QA processes to identify and resolve issues before deployment.
- Troubleshoot data, automation, journey and personalisation issues.
- Review and update regulatory and customer communications where required.
- Ensure all campaigns comply with operational, regulatory and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Technology and Compliance.
- Support continuous improvement of CRM processes, customer journeys and automation capabilities.
- Promote CRM best practice and customer-centric communications.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in CRM, Email Marketing or Marketing Automation roles.
- Strong hands-on experience building and managing automated customer journeys.
- Experience using enterprise CRM or marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Dotdigital, Acoustic or similar.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and personalised communications.
- Experience with HTML for email creation, editing, responsive templates and troubleshooting.
- Experience conducting UAT, QA testing and campaign validation processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot campaign, automation and data-related issues.
- Understanding of CRM best practice and customer lifecycle marketing.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within a regulated environment is desirable.
