Senior Embedded Software Engineer | C/C++ | RTOS | ARM | Hybrid

I'm working with a global technology organisation that develops advanced surveillance and imaging systems used to support public safety, critical infrastructure, and security applications worldwide.
Their specialist engineering team is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to help develop complex, real-world products from concept through to deployment and ongoing support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working close to the hardware and wants to see their code operating in sophisticated electromechanical systems deployed in demanding environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing embedded software in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS-based systems
- Creating low-level drivers and communication interfaces
- Working closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up, integration and debugging
- Optimising system performance, memory utilisation and power consumption
- Supporting the full product lifecycle from development through testing and maintenance
- Contributing to technically complex products that combine software, electronics and mechanical systems

What We're Looking For
- Strong embedded software development experience
- Excellent C/C++ skills
- Experience with microcontrollers and ARM-based platforms
- Knowledge of protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN and networking technologies including TCP/UDP
- Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analysers and other debugging tools
- Experience working closely with electronics and hardware teams
- Understanding of bare-metal and/or RTOS environments
Nice to Have
- Python scripting
- Test automation
- Robotics or motion-control experience
- CI/CD and automated testing knowledge
- Ability to read and understand electronic schematics
