Embedded Software Engineer

About Our Client
Our client is an established developer of specialised electronic products used to support the operation of critical technical systems within global markets. The organisation designs integrated hardware and software solutions that enable customers to operate complex equipment reliably and efficiently.
Ongoing growth in product capability and engineering activity has created the need to strengthen the software development team with the appointment of an Embedded Software Engineer.
The Role
The Embedded Software Engineer will:
- Support the development and implementation of embedded software within Linux-based environments
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components
- Optimise system performance across a complex and evolving product platform
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and system test engineers to deliver functionality aligned with product priorities
- Investigate and resolve technical issues across embedded systems
- Assist in debugging, testing, and continuous improvement of software reliability and performance

Key Responsibilities
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop embedded C software for high-performance and real-time applications
- Ensure robust, efficient, and reliable embedded systems within a Linux-centric environment
- Contribute to the design and implementation of system architectures and optimisations
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, prioritising critical technical challenges
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation processes
- Act as a technical contribute to complex product requirements and roadmaps
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in embedded C development within Linux environments
- A structured and analytical approach to software development
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and software reliability
- Ability to collaborate effectively within collaborative and technically complex teams
