About the Role

Join an award-winning product development consultancy operating under an onsite working model in Windsor.

This well-established design and engineering consultancy delivers innovative products across industries, merging embedded software, electronics, and industrial design to translate complex concepts into reality. We seek an Embedded Software Development Engineer to contribute expertise across key client projects, driving the development of bespoke embedded systems.

You’ll collaborate in a multidisciplinary engineering and design team, engaging in:

  • Firmware development
  • System integration
  • Product development from concept to production

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of custom embedded systems for technically advanced client projects
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, and maintenance)
  • Develop firmware and low-level software using C/C++ (preference for C++)
  • Integrate and debug embedded systems using STM32 microcontrollers
  • Work with Linux-based systems and accompanying development environments
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Stakeholder liaison to clarify requirements, design guides, and system specifications

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong proficiency in embedded software development using C (advantageous: C++)
  • Experience with STM32 microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems
  • Sound knowledge of embedded development tools and debugging processes
  • Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience working through the software development lifecycle
  • Practical understanding of embedded systems architecture and system integration
