This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in establishing BSI's new EMC & RF Testing Laboratory; helping to shape the future of our RED testing capability from the ground up. As our EMC/RF Technical Specialist, you will be the technical authority for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and radio frequency (RF) testing, providing the expertise needed to design, develop and embed world-class laboratory capabilities.

Working at the forefront of new facility development, you'll help define how the laboratory operates, from specifying and commissioning state-of-the-art equipment to developing test methodologies, safe systems of work and technical best practices. Beyond supporting the successful launch of the laboratory, you will play a key role in ensuring our services continue to meet the highest standards of technical excellence, quality and accreditation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced EMC/RF professional to help us build these new capabilities, influence technical direction, and become a recognised subject matter expert within one of the world's leading standards and testing organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, setup, commissioning, and validation of new EMC/RF laboratory facilities and equipment
  • Define equipment specifications and support selection, procurement, and acceptance activities for new test systems and infrastructure
  • Develop, review, and maintain EMC/RF test methods, procedures, and technical documentation
  • Ensure testing activities are delivered in accordance with applicable international standards, accreditation requirements, and internal quality systems
  • Support accreditation activities including method validation, uncertainty analysis, audits, and technical reviews
  • Review and approve technical test reports and support resolution of technical issues with customers and stakeholders
  • Act as a technical mentor and provide guidance and training to laboratory personnel
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to laboratory capability, efficiency, automation, and technical quality
  • Support investigation and implementation of new technologies, standards, and testing methodologies
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to support laboratory improvement and strategic investment projects
  • Represent BSI within relevant technical committees, industry groups, or customer engagements where required
  • Work safely and ensure compliance with all relevant HSE and quality requirements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
