Communications Specialist – EMEA (Contract)
Databricks | September 2026 – January 2027 Location: London (hybrid) or remote | Minimum 3 days per week
Databricks is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support the growing EMEA team during a transformative period. This opportunity allows you to contribute to one of the fastest-moving industries in technology—data and AI—while working at the heart of a business rapidly scaling across the region.
Reporting to the EMEA Communications Lead, this hands-on role requires someone comfortable prioritising tasks, executing high-calibre PR activities, and delivering consistent messaging across media, content, and campaign execution. If you enjoy driving brand momentum, collaborating with stakeholders, and immersing yourself in impactful PR work, this could be an ideal fit.
The Role
You’ll support PR execution across EMEA, closely partnering with agencies, marketing teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver cohesive and impactful communications. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting PR execution across key markets:
- UK
- France
- Netherlands
- DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)
- Nordics
- Aligning communications with regional marketing teams on campaigns, customer narratives, and events
- Assisting with the delivery of PR plans for Databricks’ EMEA Data & AI World Tour (October–December, across five cities)
- Creating press materials, messaging, and content for both external and internal audiences
- Ensuring coverage is amplified across internal channels and social platforms
- Managing agency activities to maintain consistency and quality across markets

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in B2B technology PR (agency, in-house, or freelance)
- Proven media relations expertise, with a track record of securing meaningful press coverage
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Comfortability managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to engage across all aspects of communications
- EMEA experience is beneficial but not essential

About the Team
The Databricks EMEA Communications team operates with high standards and a strong sense of ownership. The group covers media relations, content, social, and executive communications across the region and thrives on a small, collaborative culture. You’ll report to the EMEA Communications Lead in London and collaborate closely with regional marketing teams and the global communications function in San Francisco.
