Department Overview

EMEA Cost Management Analytics (CMA) is a team of specialists leading financial analysis and analytics, contributing as a member of the EMEA Finance team to the success of the firm. The EMEA Finance department is a collaborative environment with a strong conduct and risk culture. The CMA team is ideal for individuals interested in:

The Cost Management & Analytics team are responsible for helping to drive cost efficiency through the analysis and MI reporting of the Nomura Group’s expense base, including global investment expenditure and subsequent returns.

  • Manage production of monthly Global Investment Spend, and any related benefits, tracking MI and underlying analytical schedules
  • Act as a business partner to transformation office and other stakeholders across the firm
  • Provide insightful data analysis in order to deliver high-quality understanding of the underlying cost base and drivers of budget variances
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecast cycle
  • Various ad-hoc tasks, including: responding to data queries from stakeholders, creation of one-off MI, maintenance of governance packs
  • Contribute new ideas for fresh analysis, improvement of process, and for making better use of technology
  • Set up and lead on improvements in reporting processes and analytics for both regional and global investments
  • Broader cost advisory role – Specifically relating to but not limited to the Group CAO division
  • Manage production of monthly MI
  • Manage full financial management of regional technology and operations cost base, overseeing offshore support in accounting and booking technology and operations expense
  • Provide management reporting by analysis complex financial data and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner
