Job Purpose
We’re seeking a high-impact Customer & Marketing Insights Lead for EMEA to shape and deliver a strategic commercial insights approach. Your role will blend advanced analytics, commercial insights storytelling, and P&L influence to strategically drive growth, optimize margins, and refine customer engagement across fragmented or complex datasets (breaking silos between internal teams).
- Act as an influential brain trust between business strategy and data—offering conclusiveness, rigor, and style to critical business decisions
- Translate messy, multi-source insights into clear decision-making frameworks for sales, marketing, pricing, and product teams
- Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to drive data-informed strategic decisions
Core focus areas: bridging gaps in customer intelligence, pricing strategy, digital performance, and segmentation to make measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
Strategic Customer Insights & Influence
- Define a multi-year EMEA customer & marketing insights roadmap, aligning to GREX (growth, retention, mix, margin, activation) priorities.
- Discover performance anomalies with statistical precision and develop actionable insights—linking data to revenue growth, margin improvement, and conversion optimization issues.
- Own the Voice of the Customer diagnosis (e.g., Francis Effect, satisfaction scoring, predictor modelling), ensuring deeper qualitative understanding of pain points.
Data Architecture & Dashboard Design
- Cultivate implementable Power BI semantic models & interactive dashboards for full self-serve clarity.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques (regression, hypothesis tests)—but always accessible to end-users with finite data sophistication skills.
- Lay down consistent governance & KPI frameworks, either owning them or embedding link to existing trusted sources.
- Ensure data validity and entity level error-margin checks by automating quality controls, assign SMART metrics, and share my benchmarks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Cross-Functional Leadership
- Steer granular customer segmentation & profiling for targeted engagement plans, driving high-value campaigns/promotions.
- Board-level insight translation: Schedule summary reports for leadership that contextualize global data (DAX optimizations to summarize complex scenarios swiftly).
- Expand internal analytics maturity by building reusable models and good-practice templates (Python-centric, baseline SQL, Power BI LOD2), training others on consumption.
- Defend data-driven decisions with clear narratives (avoiding premature conclusions before hypothesis validation).
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Maintain GDPR & ethics compliance—strictly embedding opt-in patterns and secure sample process in longitudinal customer lookback files.
- Track real-world adoption rates (e.g., crash reports, uptake records, survey response rates) to mitigate seven-eighths of blackbox analysis risk.
- Scale visualizations/pipelines—advocate & execute automation (PyScript) where possible to improve agility and turnout of relevant outputs.
Essential Skills & Experience
Must-Have:
- Experience leading commercial customer or marketing analytics, but preferably with multi-market ownership (Africa, Europe or Latin America experience valued)
- Advanced Power BI skills—semantic层 modelling, calculated columns, cascading filters, and DAX.
- Strong SQL, with experience accessing ODBC, NTFS-compliant NLB databases.
- Statistical acumen: frequentist inference via regression, ANOVA, segment analysis, faction per marketing channel or revenue territory.
- Primarily tactical solutions-driven—enjoy undertaking mission-focused direction refinement stretching over shaky data sources and rising assumptions.
- Business sensibilities: margin-crunching bridge analysis, channel mix projection models, and channel breakout like DE warranties vs. UX suboptimal selling.
- Ability to write clear concise executive summaries (customer behaviours, historical trends) optimized for non-specialists.
Strongly Preferred:
- Stored data automation (PySpark, PowerShell, open-table-wrangler) to enhance translational agility.
- Hands-on pricing analytics exposure (venue mix, univocity brutes, optimization of vehicle implications).
- Proven track record in delivering reusable technical and business documentation for wide consumption.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Analytics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or Economics (or equivalent self-taught caliber).
