About the Role

As the Market Sector Lead, TMT EMEA, you’ll drive growth, deepen client relationships, and define our industry positioning within EMEA’s fast-evolving tech and telecom sectors. This role expands our footprint by capturing emerging opportunities in markets such as data centers, semiconductor facilities, media, and broadband infrastructure—while lifting the overall performance of HDR’s global TMT practice.

You will have a pivotal voice in HDR’s strategy, operations, and service excellence, ensuring our teams in EMEA and beyond maximize our technical edge and collaborative advantage.


Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a regional sector strategy, ensuring alignment with global business goals and HDR’s portfolio of critical infrastructure projects.
  • Capture new business aggressively: Maximize conversion rates for high-potential opportunities in data centers, semiconductors, and TMT markets.
  • Extend TMT capabilities into new markets with a strategic focus—strategic hiring, client development, and market research backing each move.

Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across regions (US & APAC) to foster a One-HDR approach—uniting practices for seamless client engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams: Liaise with Architecture, Power & Water, and internal operational units (Area Business Group Managers, Project Teams).
  • Uphold quality standards through continuous improvement, mentorship, and adherence to HDR’s values-centered culture.

Client & Strategic Account Management

  • Directly engage with EMEA’s largest clients, ensuring their projects deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Mentor talent—lecture regional team leaders, Client Directors, and other personnel to empower growth and uphold HDR’s innovation and ethics standards.

Data-Driven Performance

  • Track financial KPIs: Booking pipelines, profitability, ROI, and workforce alignment to ensure profitability and scalability.
  • Ensure staffing continuity through strategic recruiting, matching skills to project demands.

Collaboration & Development

  • Partner with international teams, external markets, and association members to build credibility.
  • Brand-building: Lead efforts in market research, IDE programs, and industry event participation.

Requirements

Required

  • Formal qualification: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning or a related field.
  • 10+ years in tech/telecommunications:
    • Proven experience leading large-scale TMT infrastructure portfolios.
    • Deep insight in data center retreatal and biennial spend analysis.
  • Strategic marketing leadership: Developed high-performing client relationships, programs, and projects within AE market.
  • UK/GAS region compliance: Competent in Alternative Delivery project management processes and Matrix of Approval functions.

Preferred

  • Client prospecting/resourcing:
    • Preferred exemplary compliance history for agent relationships and tailored campaigns.
  • Experience with Fortune 500s, TI clients, and semiconductor activities adds to our service strength.
  • Health and safety expertise: Well-versed in construction standards throughout Europe.
  • Analytical insights and fluency in workforce optimization with financial forecasting.
