Seasoned Executive Director (KYC Business Lead) – EMEA WKO Banking Client Office
About the Role
Shape the future of KYC operations in EMEA by leading a high-performing team at the forefront of innovation. Drive impactful change, deliver exceptional client service, and champion responsible AI adoption in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As the KYC Business Lead, you will lead KYC Middle Office teams supporting the GCB Mid and Large Cap business in EMEA. Partnering closely with Bankers, your team will ensure seamless compliance for new client onboarding and periodic renewals, while building operational excellence and advanced technology adoption.
Reporting to the Head of EMEA WKO Banking Client Office, you will forge strong stakeholder relationships, manage a dynamic workstream with unparalleled transparency, and articulate complex KYC requirements. Your role also includes:
- Conceptualising and implementing AI-driven automation to improve quality, productivity, and colleague experience.
- Cultivating a high-performing client service team whilst embedding future-ready skills (early adoption of AI included).
- Ensuring prudent AI governance to align with risk, privacy, and compliance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Excellence
- Lead the timely execution of new client onboarding and periodic renewals, prioritising speed and client experience.
- Maintain end-to-end ownership of workflow health, capacity planning, escalation management, and service delivery.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Strengthen partnerships with KYC Owners, Desk Heads, Compliance, and other critical functions.
- Establish clear governance routines and transparent risk communication, aligning with priorities for throughput and prioritisation.

Operational Innovation
- Simplify and engineer operational processes, driving consistency across the team and facilitating tool/data adoption.
- Implement intelligent automation (e.g., AI-assisted document intake, workflow digitisation, analytics-driven exception management) for performance gains.
- Advocate for AI capabilities, including:
- Document intelligence tools
- Predictive analytics for risk and efficiency
- Human-in-the-loop review processes
Team Development & Future Readiness
- Develop sustainable KYC practitioner skills, fostering scalable attention-to-detail and operational excellence.
- Coach, develop, and attract high-calibre talent, ensuring the team remains future-ready through AI integration and upskilling initiatives.
Data-Driven Performance Improvement
- Use root-cause analysis and MI to monitor KPIs for quality, timeliness, productivity, and client service outcomes.
- Identify and address control gaps, mitigating adverse audit findings through proactive strategy alignment.
Regulatory & Compliance Aligment
- Align AI initiatives with model risk, privacy guidelines, and compliance adherence.
- Ensure adherence to ethical AI governance, maintaining strict review standards.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant senior leadership experience in:
- Business operations
- Compliance
- Audit management
- Operational governance
- Bachelor’s degree (essential)
- Demonstrated ability to lead Change & Innovation in high-compliance environments

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent Graduate Degree
- Advanced expertise in Corporate & Investment Banking operations
