Emergency Call Taker – Make a Difference When It Matters Most

A child is trapped beneath a fallen tree.

Someone suddenly collapses and stops breathing.

There’s been a serious road traffic collision.

A caller is standing on a bridge, overwhelmed and in crisis.

In moments like these, people dial 999.

As an Emergency Call Taker, you will often be the very first person a caller speaks to in some of the most difficult moments of their life. Your calmness, compassion, and ability to think clearly under pressure can make a real difference.

  • Can you stay focused when others are distressed?
  • Can you ask the right questions, provide reassurance, and support callers through critical situations?

If so, this could be the role for you.

No two calls are ever the same. One moment you may be helping coordinate a life-saving emergency response, and the next you could be supporting a new parent through the safe arrival of their baby.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
