Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) / Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP)

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to apply for the role of Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) / Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) within the Injuries Department of the Emergency Department.

About the Role

This is a predominantly clinical, department-based role, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within the adult minor injuries service. The post holder may also be required to support the paediatric area in line with departmental need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-contact care for patients presenting with urgent and emergency care needs, working autonomously within their scope of practice.
  • Act as a first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients autonomously within scope of practice.
  • Undertake comprehensive history taking and physical examination.
  • Order, interpret, and act upon investigations (e.g. X-rays, blood tests).
  • Consult and manage patients within required clinical time frames and standards.
  • Discharge or refer patients appropriately to specialty teams or community services.
  • Provide health promotion and injury prevention advice to patients and carers.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records.
