Emergency Gas Responder

Location: Paisley | Glasgow | Ayrshire | Dunbartonshire

Salary: £36.6k per annum (increases to £40.4k upon successful completion of probationary period)

Once qualified, earning potential increases with additional standby and overtime.

  • Working independently in homes, businesses, and outside to:
    • Identify gas leaks and mitigate risks
  • Engaging with customers to:
    • Communicate confidently, listen actively, and resolve service issues
    • Provide a 10/10 customer service experience every time
  • Problem-solving complex situations and ensuring safety for:
    • People
    • Property
    • Environment
  • Responding to gas escapes within legal deadlines to maintain robust, effective service
  • Ensuring van maintenance, equipment, tools, and PPE are always ready for safe operations
  • Participating in essential round-the-clock works across all seasons and shifts, with available standby and overtime opportunities

Requirements

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A friendly, approachable attitude with exceptional customer service skills
  • A current ACS qualification (CCN1 or CESP1) – MET1 to 4 is ideal (not essential)
  • Ability to handle high-pressure public interactions, remaining calm and adaptable in emergencies
  • Curiosity and initiative, seeking continuous learning and personal growth
  • Flexibility for a 24/7/365 rota system, including occasional overnight/weekend working (compensated)
  • A full and valid UK manual driving licence
