Emergency Lighting Engineer (Subcontract) Swindon £230 per Day + Expenses

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Emergency Lighting Engineer to support a well-established fire and life safety company on a subcontract basis, covering Swindon and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent long-term contract opportunity for an engineer with experience carrying out the testing, inspection, servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems across commercial and industrial sites.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out the testing, inspection, servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
  • Completing emergency lighting inspections in line with BS 5266 standards
  • Fault finding and carrying out remedial works where required
  • Replacing defective emergency lighting fittings and components
  • Completing accurate service reports and compliance documentation
  • Working across commercial and industrial sites throughout Swindon and the surrounding areas
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Maintaining excellent communication with customers and site contacts

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as an Emergency Lighting Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of emergency lighting testing and maintenance
  • Good understanding of BS 5266 standards
  • Experience working within commercial environments
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • ECS/CSCS card (preferred)
  • IPAF and/or PASMA (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Own tools and transport preferred
