Emergency Medicine consultant
Consultant in Accident and Emergency
Location: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust Hours: 10PA’s + Additional 2PA’s (flexible SPA time by agreement) Interview Date: 17th July 2026
Location & Facilities
The department operates in a state-of-the-art new build, including:
- 10-bedded resuscitation room
- Urgent Care area
- Paediatric Emergency Department
- Integrated Radiology Hub (plain film + 1 CT scanner)
About the Role
As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will join a highly experienced, multicultural team and deliver first-class clinical care in an environment committed to service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency care to patients, working across all Emergency Medicine specialties.
- Provide clinical leadership, including supervision and teaching of junior medical and nursing staff.
- Contribute to workload management and administrative duties, including service planning and development.
- Develop and maintain specialist interests within Emergency Medicine.
- Participate in departmental and multi-disciplinary team meetings, including postgraduate activities.
- Share equitable on-call duties to ensure continuous emergency services.
- Take responsibility for professional supervision and appraisal of trainee doctors.

Requirements

- Specialist Registration via CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training)
- Professional Portfolio (formerly CESR).
