About the Role

UCLH is expanding its Emergency Practitioner workforce in the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), part of the Emergency Department. We seek applications from the following experienced and autonomous healthcare professionals:

  • Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs)
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Paramedic Practitioners
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioners

The department treats patients 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. In 2023, UCLH’s Emergency Department served 161,000 patients, with 85,000 managed in the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)—making it one of London’s busiest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as an independent, autonomous practitioner, providing high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care to patients with life-threatening, urgent, and emergency conditions, including acute undifferentiated or undiagnosed illnesses/injuries across all age groups.
  • Use expert diagnostic and clinical skills to deliver unscheduled medical care, making valid decisions and initiating timely treatment plans.
  • Work flexibly across day and night shifts, including pro-rata weekends and bank holidays, reflecting the urgent care environment.
